Join Julie Gammon and Lynn MacDonald-Webber at Big White Barn Yoga in Readfield for this deeply rebalancing session of acupuncture and yoga nidra guided relaxation. Lynn will be placing 4-5 acupuncture points to ground, regulate, and balance stress levels, then Julie will lead you through a long relaxing guided meditation as you lie in savasana (relaxation posture on your back). You will set an intention (sankalpa) for the practice and leave feeling balanced and rejuvenated. No experience necessary, all props are provided by the studio but feel free to bring your own mat if you like!
Investment in Self, $30.

ACUPUNCTURE: Practiced in China and other Asian countries for thousands of years, acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupuncture, put simply, involves stimulating specific points along meridians to help provide relief from ailments that affect the body and mind. From a biomedical perspective, acupuncture helps relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and restore homeostasis. Acupuncture does not hurt. A treatment typically allows people to enter a deeply relaxed state, allowing the body-mind to heal with more efficiency.
YOGA NIDRA is a specific type of guided relaxation which leads you through connection with the 5 sheaths of your being (physical, prana/energy, emotional, mental, and bliss bodies). They get damaged and displaced by the traumas we experience in our lives, and the superconscious state of yoga nidra helps us to heal and reintegrate them. It is essentially the yogic version of a shamanic soul retrieval. The superconscious state of yoga nidra has been shown to accelerate healing and learning.
It is important for us to encapsulate this sacred space and not have people trickling in late. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in and if it's your first time at the studio to fill out paperwork.

Lynn MacDonald-Webber, Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist.
In 2007 Lynn received her Master’s of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture. In 2013 she transitioned her private practice to the community acupuncture model. She believes that more affordable access to acupuncture is necessary.
Lynn treats a wide variety conditions but especially enjoys helping patients lower their pain and stress levels. She uses an array of modalities including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, and gua sha to help each person restore balance in their life and improve their health. When not ‘poking people with pins’ she can likely be found knitting, cooking, camping, or (maybe) weeding the garden.
